One hundred years ago today, Scouting was established in the United States. Dating back to 1920 locally, Davis has a wide range of Scouting groups that help teach all ages of children a wide variety of outdoor and leadership skills. With several groups for every age, parents and children can find a group that meets and does activities that they will enjoy and benefit from later in devotion to the party. Also, although the Boy Scout Cabin may no longer be held by local Scouts, it is one of the first things visible in Davis to visitors entering town from I-80 and a historical landmark of the city built in 1927.

2009-11-06 The Davis Wiki is declared "the worlds best local wiki" in a blog post from Harvards Nieman Journalism Lab. The Davis Enterprise followed up on this with a front-page article on 2009-11-10, headlined "Davis Wiki is worlds best."

2009-10-13 An upstream provider suffered a power issue that caused Davis Wiki to be offline early this morning. For system outage information, you can also follow the Wiki Spot twitter feed.

2009-04-09 Wikispot (including daviswiki) was inaccessible for nearly 10 hours due to multiple fiber cuts in the SF bay area, at least one of which affected our upstream provider. While we seem to be back up now, you may experience intermittent outages as repair crews work to fix the damaged line(s).
